Attacked! And not by the forces of She, indeed…

Mentor

Our campaign to make this project a reality, a project that seeks no other thing than to celebrate the HeroqQuest 25th Anniversary with a game faithful to the best dungeon crawler tradition, has been a complete and sound success. We are working really hard to bring to life a product that reflects our love and respect for this legacy, but it seems there are some people who are upset by it.

Last week we announced that this very monday we would start the process of gathering and checking data from our backers at the Gamezone Miniatures online store. And then we were attacked. At first it only slowed down the job of the person in charge of setting things running, but at the end they managed to crash the server in which both heroquestclassic.com and our own store are hosted, with a strong distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS).

Electronic mails have been affected too, and we have noticed that not every response message we have been sending to you has reached its destination. It is very important to remark that no confidential data from our customers has been compromised in any moment, so beyond the headache all this matter has caused to our technical team, the worst loss we have to regret is the wasted time.

Unluckily this has not been the first time we have been attacked, and during the campaign even Lánzanos was under attack, much to the detriment of other projects that were being funded at the same time as ours in that crodwfunding platform. This is a crime, a type of harassment we could not and will not tolerate, and that we have immediately reported to the Guardia Civil Cybercrime Unit.

These past days attacks want to hinder our job and are aimed to make our customer attention as clumsy as possible. They want to sow mistrust and make us all nervous, and they waste the time of those who are working on the administrative area of this project. But luckily, none of this affects the creative team that keeps developing HeroQuest Classic, so you will not wait too long before receiving another update with the latest news about it.

And about the final process in which you will be able to confirm the items you want for your money, modify your pledge as you wish or give us your shipping address, we have another good news: in a few days we will get in contact with you to create a personal account at our online store, that will identify you as backers. We originally planned to do it in another way, but it would be more complex for you and that is exactly what we are trying to avoid.

Thank you all for your patience! We are very serious about our work and we are really striving to make it easy and simple.
