Hello again everybody! Our website is still giving us some headaches, and it is not helping at all in the task of transferring more than 5,000 accounts that we have created for you. But we really hope to bring this matter to an end soon enough, and to give you good news about it once and for all.
On another level, our creative team has been working tirelessly on the project according to their schedule (now with an excellent fourth modeller as backup) and we want to show you the progress we have made since the last developer diary: two heroines (the dwarf and the huntress), a foe, spiders and a scenery element: the Book of Sand and its stand.
Both the female dwarf and the huntress are still works in progress, with some obvious changes such as moving the former’s feet into a more natural position.
Talking about the spider, this is an initial model in which we are going to add more bulges and lumps to make it even more disgusting before the next step: to create three clearly different versions, both in poses and details, that will help to give them their own distinct personalities. This step will be shared by all the enemies’ miniatures in the game, and they also will be individually modified to reflect different poses or facial expressions, and even given different clothes or weapons so you can tell them from each other or even name them.
The stand and Book of Sand, on the other hand, is a final model ready to go into mass production. This miniature is made of three parts (book, stand with jaw and skull) to be able to get such a level of detail, and make life a little bit easier to all of you artists who are already thinking about the hard painting labor ahead of you. Truth is that we can’t wait to see what many of you will be able to do with your brushes, but as you can already appreciate, these miniatures will be impressive even without painting them.
One last note before saying goodbye until the next update. We are testing different ideas to store all these components inside the basic box in the most efficient and smartest way possible. Firstly we thought about individual small boxes (for single miniatures or small groups) as that would give the whole thing a really orderly look, but our concern was that they would wear down quickly due to constant use and slow down the beginning of your games, so now we are considering useing a custom-made thermoformed insert. It won’t be easy due to the huge amount of miniatures and components the game already has, so we cannot promise anything, but if it is really viable it will be our first choice.
